The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the NEET-PG 2026 merit list, which lists every qualified candidate’s total score and All India Rank in ascending order of roll number. Candidates featuring in this list become eligible for postgraduate medical counselling.

Who Is Eligible for the NEET PG Merit List
- Candidates who appeared for NEET PG 2026 on August 30, or in the September 5 re-exam for Jaipur-affected centres.
- Candidates who scored at or above the category-wise qualifying cutoff marks.
- Only candidates on the merit list are eligible for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling, state quota counselling, and admission to deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS seats and DNB CET courses.

NEET PG 2026 Tie-Breaking Criteria
Where two or more candidates score identically, NBEMS applies the following order to decide merit position:
- Fewer overall negative responses across the full exam.
- Fewer negative responses in Section A of the question paper.
- Fewer negative responses in Section B of the question paper.
- Fewer negative responses in Section C of the question paper.
- Higher aggregate marks (in percentage) across all MBBS professional examinations.
- Candidate with greater age is placed higher, if the tie still persists.

- Open the NEET PG 2026 result PDF released by NBEMS.
- Search for your roll number using Ctrl+F.
- Note your total score and All India Rank against your entry.
- Compare your rank with previous years’ closing ranks for a rough idea of college chances.
What Comes Next
- NBEMS will release individual scorecards, the answer key and the response sheet from October 1, 2026.
- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the AIQ counselling schedule after result declaration.
- State counselling authorities will separately notify schedules for state quota seats.
- Candidates should keep NEET PG scorecards, ID proof and academic documents ready for registration.
