UP NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must meet the following conditions for UP NEET PG Counselling 2026:
- NEET PG: A valid rank in NEET PG 2026.
- Qualification: MBBS degree or a recognised qualification approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Internship: The one-year compulsory rotating internship must be completed by the cut-off date given in the DGME UP information brochure. NBEMS has fixed September 30, 2026 as the internship cut-off for NEET PG 2026; the date in the UP brochure can differ, so confirm it when the brochure is released.
- Registration: A permanent or provisional NMC/State Medical Council registration certificate.
- Age: There is no upper age limit for MD/MS admission.
- Nationality: Indian citizens.

Register on upneet.gov.in with your NEET PG roll number and application details:
- Register: Fill in your personal, academic and category details online.
- Pay fees: Pay the non-refundable registration fee and the security deposit for your seat type. Choice filling is not allowed without the deposit.
- Check the merit list: DGME UP publishes it on NEET PG rank after registration closes.
- Fill and lock choices: Arrange colleges and courses by preference and lock them before the deadline.
- Get your seat: Allotment is based on rank, locked choices, category and seat availability.
- Download the allotment letter: Save it with your security money receipt.
- Report for admission: Go to the allotted college or nodal centre with your original documents within the given window.
- Upgrade if needed: Take part in the next round if you want a better seat.
Important rules to remember:
- Only candidates who qualify NEET PG can take part in UP NEET PG counselling.

UP State Quota vs All India Quota (AIQ) Seats
PG seats in Uttar Pradesh are split between two counselling authorities:

UP NEET PG Service Bond and Seat Leaving Rules
- Service bond: Candidates admitted to government medical or dental colleges must serve in the state for 2 years after the course.
- Bond penalty: Rs 40 lakh for degree courses (MD/MS/MDS/DNB) and Rs 20 lakh for diploma courses if the service is not completed.
- Seat leaving: The last cycle brochure carried a Rs 5,00,000 penalty for leaving a government seat after the second counselling or at any point during the course.
- Stray vacancy: Candidates allotted a seat in the Stray Vacancy round who do not join lose the security money and can be barred from the next year’s UP counselling.

- Check the seat matrix for each round. Seat availability changes between rounds, so do not rely on the previous round’s list.
- Fill as many choices as you are willing to join, arranged strictly in the order of preference.

- Compare the service bond, tuition fee and stipend for each college before locking.
- Government seats need UP MBBS eligibility. Non-domicile candidates should focus on private college choices.
- Deposit the correct security amount early. Candidates without a deposit cannot fill choices.
- Lock your choices before the deadline. Unlocked choices may not be considered.
- If you are also taking part in MCC counselling, note the MCC round dates. An MCC allotment can remove you from the state list.
After UP NEET PG Seat Allotment
- Download the allotment letter and the security money receipt from upneet.gov.in.
- Report to the allotted college or nodal centre within the given window with all original documents and one self-attested set of copies.
- Show the registration form, fee slip and security receipt at the time of admission.
- Pay the college fee as notified and sign the bond documents for government seats.
- If you want to upgrade, take part in the next round as per the counselling rules.
Candidates who do not report within the given window can lose the seat and, depending on the round, the security money.
