Dr Monish’s Journey to NEET PG 2026 AIR 1
Reports say Dr Monish began preparing for NEET PG during his internship. At first, he focused mainly on solving multiple-choice questions (MCQs). He later realised that question practice alone was not enough to cover the 19-subject postgraduate syllabus, so he changed his approach.
His revised strategy combined three things:
- Theory: He studied the subjects properly instead of relying only on questions.
- Daily MCQ practice: He solved about 100 MCQs a day and attempted around 10,425 MCQs in total.
- Repeated revision: He revised his workbooks four to five times.
He also took part in 445 practice leaderboards, securing rank 1 in 85 of them, and kept a notebook where he wrote down his mistakes and the reasons behind them. He went through this notebook again before major tests.
Handling a Difficult Phase
Dr Monish has said his preparation was not smooth throughout. After a disappointing result, he was unable to study for several weeks. He resumed his preparation after changing his study environment and paying more attention to sleep, exercise and recovery.
What NEET PG 2026 Candidates Can Learn
- Mix theory with MCQ practice instead of depending on one of them.
- Keep a mistake log and revise it regularly.
- Plan multiple revision cycles before the exam.
- Take breaks and rest when you feel burnt out. A recovery period can help you return to a proper routine.
