The NEET PG 2025 exam is over, and candidates are now eagerly waiting for the result and the start of counselling. Counselling is one of the most crucial stages, as it decides the college and branch for postgraduate medical studies.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for 50% of seats, while the remaining seats will be filled through state quota counselling conducted by respective state authorities.

To avoid rejection during seat allotment, every candidate must keep their documents ready in advance. Missing even one certificate can lead to disqualification.

Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Carry at least 4-5 photocopies of every document, as they may be needed in multiple rounds.
  • Ensure the name and details match your NEET PG application form.
  • If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), make sure your certificate is in the latest format accepted by MCC or the state authority.
  • Keep your digital copies ready (scanned PDF/JPEG), as some states conduct online document verification.

Why Document Verification is Important

Document verification is not just a formality; it ensures that:

  • You meet the eligibility criteria for admission.
  • Seats are allocated fairly under different quotas (AIQ, state quota, EWS, PwD, etc.).
  • Fraudulent admissions are prevented.

If any document is missing or found invalid, the candidate may lose their allotted seat even after counselling.
