The Supreme Court is expected to take up petitions related to the NEET PG 2025 exam on September 19, 2025, after the earlier hearing was deferred by two weeks. The petitions have been filed by candidates and the United Doctors Front (UDF), who have questioned the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) over a lack of transparency in the results process.
Aspirants allege that while NBEMS has released the answer key, it has only provided question IDs rather than publishing the complete set of questions. According to them, this makes it impossible to cross-verify their answers and identify discrepancies in marks. Many students have also voiced their concerns on social media, accusing the board of “hiding something.”
On the other hand, NBEMS has maintained that sharing the full set of exam questions could lead to misuse of exam material, which is why only IDs were made public.
The legal tussle has delayed the announcement of dates for the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). However, several states, including Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, have already started their state-quota counselling processes.
Aspirants are now urging the Union Health Ministry and the court to ensure greater transparency and faster commencement of the counselling schedule so that academic timelines are not disrupted.
