New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially released the updated MD/MS (Broad Specialty) PG Seat Matrix 2025 on its website nmc.org.in. The revised seat matrix includes newly approved seats and increased intake across various private medical colleges for the academic year 2025-26.
The latest notification, issued by the Policy & Coordination Division and Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB), provides an updated list of newly sanctioned PG seats and increase in existing seats across multiple specialties such as MD General Medicine, MD Radiodiagnosis, MS Orthopaedics, MD Dermatology, MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and more.
Key Highlights of the NMC PG Seat Matrix 2025
1. Updated PG Seats Across Private Medical Colleges
The MARB has approved significant additions in multiple Broad Specialty courses. The updated list contains seat increases in major specializations including:
- MD General Medicine
- MD Radiodiagnosis
- MS Orthopaedics
- MS General Surgery
- MD Paediatrics
- MD Anaesthesiology
- MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy
- MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology
2. Counselling Authorities Can Proceed Without Waiting for LOPs
NMC has clarified that the Letter of Permission (LOP) issuance for newly approved seats is still underway. However, counselling authorities need not wait for LOPs and can include these seats in NEET PG 2025 counselling using the published document.
