Jaipur: Postgraduate medical education in Rajasthan has reached an unprecedented cost surge this year. Several private medical colleges in the state have raised tuition fees for high-demand MD courses such as Radiology and Dermatology, with total fees crossing ₹4 crore for a three-year program.
Fees Reach Unprecedented Levels
- MD Radiology in some private colleges under the management quota now costs around ₹1.50 crore per year, bringing the three-year total to nearly ₹4.50 crore.
- MD Dermatology fees have touched approximately ₹1.40 crore annually, totalling ₹4.20 crore for the entire course.
- Programs like MD General Medicine and MD Obstetrics & Gynaecology are also priced extremely high, averaging around ₹1.30 crore per year, or close to ₹3.90 crore overall.
- Even seats under the state quota and all-India quota in certain private colleges have crossed ₹1 crore per year, something not seen previously for these categories.
Why Are Fees Increasing So Rapidly?
The fee hike is driven primarily by:
- Extremely high demand for premium specialties like Radiology and Dermatology.
- Management-quota seats being priced aggressively by private institutions.
- Additional charges such as hostel fees, security deposits, and other institutional levies, which further inflate the total cost.
