New Delhi: In a significant boost to postgraduate medical education, Uttar Pradesh has approved 271 new PG (MD/MS) medical seats for the 2025-26 academic session. This initiative aims to enhance specialist doctor training and healthcare services across the state.
Of these new seats, 233 have been allotted to government medical colleges, while 38 have been added in private institutions. With this increase, the total PG medical intake in Uttar Pradesh now exceeds 4,200 seats across various specialties.
Impact on NEET PG 2025 Aspirants
The increase in PG seats will provide more options for NEET PG 2025 candidates, particularly in key clinical and surgical branches. The move is expected to strengthen the state’s medical infrastructure and improve access to specialist care in rural and semi-urban areas.
Policy Significance
The government’s focus on expanding postgraduate seats demonstrates its commitment to producing more specialists to meet growing healthcare demands. This step aligns with India’s broader vision of ensuring quality healthcare access for every citizen.
