Jaipur: In a big relief for postgraduate medical aspirants, the Rajasthan Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) has officially approved a uniform fee structure for MD/MS courses across all government and private medical colleges in the state. The new fee policy will come into effect from NEET PG Counselling 2025.
Key Highlights of the New Fee Structure
- Pre-Clinical Courses: ₹2 lakh
- Para-Clinical Courses: ₹6 lakh
- Clinical Courses: ₹32.5 lakh
These fees apply equally to both government-quota and management-quota seats in private medical colleges.
Additional academic charges:
- ₹35,000 per year (admission, exam, library fees)
- ₹10,000 one-time registration fee
Hostel charges (standardised across colleges):
- Single sharing: ₹3.5 lakh
- Double sharing: ₹2 lakh
- 1BHK: ₹4 lakh (per course)
Government medical colleges will continue with their comparatively lower fee slabs, which remain nominal.
Why This Matters
This is being seen as a historic reform aimed at stopping excessive fee hikes by private medical colleges. In previous years, the cost of clinical PG seats often reached several crores, creating barriers for meritorious students.
The new structure brings:
- Transparency
- Fairness across institutions
- Financial predictability for students
Medical associations have welcomed the move, calling it a major step to curb “exploitation” and ensure equal opportunity for aspirants.
