UP NEET PG 2026-27: DGME Debars 144 Candidates Who Resigned Seats or Skipped Admission

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has issued an important notice on UP NEET PG debarred candidates. The notice is dated October 23, 2026. It names candidates who gave up their admitted seats after the final round, and candidates who did not take admission after being allotted a seat in the Special Stray Vacancy Round of UP NEET PG 2025-26. The notice says these candidates are barred from participating in the UP NEET PG 2026-27 counselling process.

What the Notice Says

The notice releases four lists. Two cover candidates who resigned their seats, and two cover candidates who did not report for admission.

Rules Behind the Action

The notice refers to two government orders:

• Resignation after the final round: As per Government Order No. 1/687326/2024 dated July 9, 2024, clause 10(b), which refers to Order No. 1/676928/2024 dated June 26, 2024, a candidate who leaves a seat in a government or private medical or dental college after the final counselling round, before completing the course, is debarred from the next academic session’s admission process.
• Not reporting after stray round allotment: As per Government Order No. 1/986212/2025 dated June 6, 2025, clause 7(gha) sub-clause VIII, a candidate who does not take admission after being allotted a seat in the stray vacancy round forfeits the security deposit and is barred from UP NEET PG counselling 2026-27.

The notice repeats the first rule, from clause 10(b), before the 2025-26 resigned list.

What This Means for Candidates

• Candidates named in the notice are not allowed to take part in UP NEET PG 2026-27 counselling.
• Candidates who did not report after stray round allotment have also lost their security deposit.
• Candidates who plan to give up a seat after the final round should check the consequences first, as the rule applies to government and private medical and dental colleges.
• Candidates who think their name was included by mistake should contact the DGME, UP office.
