NMC Approves 966 PG Medical Seats in Private Deemed Universities for 2025-26

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC), through the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), has approved 966 new Broad-Speciality (PG) medical seats across private deemed universities for the academic year 2025-26. This major expansion is expected to benefit thousands of NEET-PG aspirants by offering more options in postgraduate medical education.

• A total of 1,765 PG seats were requested, out of which 966 seats have been approved.
• These seats fall under Broad Speciality postgraduate courses in private deemed-to-be universities.
• Previously, these universities had 1,980 existing seats in this category.
• The NMC has clarified that these approved seats are valid for NEET-PG 2025-26 counselling, and counseling authorities do not need to wait for Letters of Permission (LOPs).
