NEET PG 2026 Cutoff
There is no separate qualifying cutoff for Telangana. Candidates must meet the NEET PG 2026 qualifying cutoff prescribed by NBEMS to become eligible for counselling:
| Category | Qualifying Percentile | Cutoff Score (Out of 720) |
| General / EWS | 50th Percentile | 262 |
| General PwBD | 45th Percentile | 244 |
| SC / ST / OBC, including PwBD | 40th Percentile | 226 |
A qualifying score only makes you eligible. The seat depends on your All India Rank and the closing ranks below.
Qualifying Cutoff vs Admission Cutoff
- Qualifying cutoff: the minimum percentile set by NBEMS, the same across India, declared with the result.
- Admission cutoff: the last rank at which a branch was allotted in a college and category in Telangana. It changes every year with seats, competition and choices filled.
- Opening and closing rank: the opening rank is the best rank allotted in a branch and the closing rank is the last. Use the closing rank to judge your chances.

Factors Affecting Telangana NEET PG Cutoff 2026
- Number of candidates: Higher competition can push closing ranks.
- Exam difficulty: An easier paper changes the score and rank distribution.
- Seat availability: More MD/MS seats directly widen the closing ranks.
- Category reservation: Cutoffs vary for OPEN, BC-A to BC-E, SC, ST and Minority, and for Gen and Female sub-categories.
- Local, non-local and service status: Quotas have separate cutoffs.
- Fees, bond and stipend: See state-wise bond for NEET PG and state-wise stipend.
- Counselling participation: The number of candidates in each round affects seat movement.
How to Calculate NEET PG Cutoff 2026
The qualifying cutoff is based on percentile, not on a percentage of total marks.

- Know the exam pattern: NEET PG 2026 has 180 questions and 720 marks.
- Know the qualifying percentile: 50th for General/EWS, 45th for General PwBD and 40th for SC/ST/OBC.
- Understand percentile: it shows the share of candidates who scored at or below you.
- Remember that rank is decided by raw marks: percentile is only used to check if you qualify.
Percentile = (Total candidates − Your rank) ÷ Total candidates × 100
For example, if 2,00,000 candidates appear (a made-up number for explanation), the candidate at rank 1,00,000 sits at the 50th percentile, and that candidate’s marks become the General cutoff.
How to Use the Telangana NEET PG Cutoff
- Note your All India Rank and category. Rank matters more than marks.
- Shortlist 8 to 10 branches you would genuinely accept.
- Match your rank with the government and private tables above and mark each option as safe, possible or a stretch.
- Check a quick estimate with the NEET PG college predictor and branch predictor.
- Compare the full cost of private seats: fee, stipend and bond.
- Prepare two lists: one for MCC and one for Telangana state counselling, since the rules differ.
- Fill and lock your choices carefully.
