AP NEET PG: Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada, has officially issued a notification allowing Free Exit for postgraduate (PG) medical seats allotted under Phase-1 and Phase-2 counselling for the academic year 2025-26. The decision comes in response to multiple requests from PG candidates who wish to resign their state counselling seats after securing admissions through Institutes of National Importance (INI) such as AIIMS, New Delhi, or other state counselling processes.
The Free Exit facility applies to both Competent Authority Quota (Non-Service) and Management Quota seats.
Who Can Avail the Free Exit?
According to the notification, candidates who have:
- Joined PG medical seats through State Counselling, and
- Been allotted seats in Phase-1 or Phase-2,
are eligible to opt for the Free Exit facility without attracting penalties, provided they follow the prescribed process within the given timeline.
Free Exit Timeline
The resignation window for availing Free Exit is strictly time-bound:
- Start: 04:00 PM on 12 January 2026
- End: 04:00 PM on 14 January 2026
Candidates must complete the entire resignation process within this period. No requests beyond the deadline will be entertained.
Procedure to Avail Free Exit
Candidates opting for Free Exit must follow a clearly defined procedure:
- Visit the allotted college in person and submit a formal resignation.
- Submit an undertaking in the format prescribed by the University.
- Ensure the college principal updates the resignation details in the official college login system.
- College principals must:
- Freeze the data by 05:00 PM on 14 January 2026.
- Email signed lists of reported, not-reported, and resigned candidates along with undertakings to appgadmissions2021@gmail.com.
Failure to complete any step will render the resignation null and void.

Refund of Certificates and Fees
The notification clearly states that:
- College principals must return all original certificates.
- Tuition fees and other collected fees must also be refunded to candidates who resign under the Free Exit option.

Candidates opting for Free Exit should be aware of the following conditions:
- The Free Exit option must be used strictly within the notified timeline.
- Once a seat is vacated under Free Exit, it cannot be reclaimed by the candidate.
- Vacated seats will not be available to the same candidate in Phase-III counselling.
- Candidates who resign are eligible to participate in Phase-III counselling, subject to eligibility.
- All seats vacated through Free Exit will be included in Phase-III counselling.
Restrictions and Penalties
The University has issued strict warnings regarding misuse of the process:
- No extension of the Free Exit deadline will be granted under any circumstances.
- Dual reporting is strictly prohibited, meaning candidates cannot report to multiple counselling authorities simultaneously.
- Any instance of dual reporting will invite severe penalties, including possible disqualification from counselling.
