Chhattisgarh NEET PG (MD/MS) 2025: The Government of Chhattisgarh has officially amended the NEET PG (MD/MS) Admission Rules, 2025, introducing key changes in the seat distribution policy for government and private medical colleges in the state. The revised provisions aim to clearly define eligibility and allocation of State Quota and Open Category seats.
Key Changes in NEET PG 2025 Rules
As per the amended Rule 11, the revised seat distribution structure is as follows:
Government Medical Colleges
- 50% seats will continue to be filled through the All India Quota (AIQ).
- The remaining 50% State Quota seats will be available to:
- Candidates who completed MBBS from NMC-recognized medical colleges located in Chhattisgarh, or
- Candidates who are domiciled or in-service in Chhattisgarh.
Private Medical Colleges
- 50% of total seats will be reserved for eligible candidates who:
- Have completed MBBS from recognized medical colleges within Chhattisgarh, or
- Are state in-service candidates.
- The remaining 50% seats will be treated as Open Category seats and will be filled purely on the basis of merit, allowing non-domicile candidates to participate.
Reservation Policy
- State reservation rules will also apply to the Open Category seats in private medical colleges.
Conversion of Vacant Seats
- If eligible candidates are not available for State Quota seats in government medical colleges, such vacant seats may be converted and allotted to non-domicile candidates during subsequent counselling rounds.
What This Means for Candidates
The amended rules bring greater clarity on:
- Eligibility for State Quota seats
- Participation of non-domicile candidates in private medical colleges
- Conversion of vacant seats to avoid seat wastage
Aspirants appearing for NEET PG 2025 counselling in Chhattisgarh are advised to carefully review these updated provisions before registration and choice filling.
