New Delhi, October 6, 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has yet to start the NEET PG 2025 counselling for the seats under All India Quota (AIQ), irritating thousands of postgraduate medical hopefuls with expectations of the national counselling process being postponed.
MCC Counselling Yet to Arrive
Up to October 6, the MCC has not announced the official schedule for NEET PG 2025 counselling.
The centralised process, which distributes 50% of all PG medical seats under the All India Quota, continues to be suspended even though the NEET PG results have been announced weeks ago by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
Delay Tied to Supreme Court Proceedings
The delay is partially due to ongoing proceedings in the Supreme Court against petitions for more transparency in the NEET PG 2025 test – chiefly in the answer key and assessment criteria.

The case has apparently delayed the declaration of counselling as the MCC does not want to precede final instructions.
Counselling Expected by Mid-October
According to sources who are close to the development, Medical Counselling Committee can make the schedule in mid-October 2025, once the seat confirmation and legal case procedures are complete.
After being released, candidates will be able to register on the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in – for AIQ Round 1 counselling.
States Go Ahead With Their Counselling
As the country-level process is delayed, a few states have already started their state-quota NEET PG 2025 counselling.

According to the latest news, the following states have opened or initiated registration for their PG medical seats:
- Kerala Counselling – Registration for 50% state-quota seats was started in mid-September Government of Kerala‘s website.
- Tamil Nadu Counselling – Counselling registration available on the TN Selection Committee portal.
- Gujarat Counselling – The medadmgujarat portal is open for NEET PG 2025 registration.
- Andhra Pradesh Counselling – Dr NTR UHS has started PG counselling on their official website.
- Karnataka Counselling – KEA PG counselling registration live.
- Maharashtra Counselling – CET Cell portal showing active counselling notifications.
- Telangana Counselling – KNRUHS has released a counselling notification and initiated registration.
- Punjab Counselling – BFUHS has initiated PG registration for state seats.
- Haryana Counselling – Haryana DMER has published its counselling dates and registration schedule.
With these developments, students all over the country are keeping MCC and state government notifications under close monitoring to chart their course of action.
