New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has postponed the hearing on the transparency plea related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 by two weeks. The matter, which was initially scheduled for October, was preponed to September 4 and later listed for September 12. However, the apex court has now adjourned it further.
The delay comes amid concerns that counselling for NEET PG 2025 is being stalled due to a lack of clarity. Petitioners have challenged the corrective notice issued on August 21 by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The notice stated that answer keys and responses would only be provided through Question ID Numbers.
Candidates argued that since the exam was conducted with shuffled questions and answer options, the Question ID system prevents them from cross-verifying their answers. They said this format is opaque, defeats the very purpose of releasing answer keys, and denies them a fair opportunity to raise objections.
Earlier, NBEMS had promised to release the complete set of questions along with the answer key. However, it later restricted disclosure to Question IDs, prompting candidates to move the court demanding transparency.
