Factors Affecting Delhi NEET PG Cutoff 2026
The Delhi NEET PG cutoff may vary each year due to several factors:
- Number of candidates: Higher competition can push closing ranks lower.
- Exam difficulty: A tougher or easier paper changes the score and rank distribution.
- Seat availability: An increase or decrease in MD/MS seats directly affects cutoffs.
- Category reservation: Cutoffs vary for General, EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
- Quota: All India Quota ranks and Delhi state quota ranks are counselled separately.
- Qualifying percentile: Any reduction in the qualifying percentile can widen closing ranks in later rounds.
- Stipend and bond: Candidates also compare state-wise stipend and state-wise bond conditions.
- Counselling participation: Seat leaving and upgrades change the closing rank in each round.
How to Calculate NEET PG Cutoff 2026
The qualifying cutoff is based on percentile, not on a percentage of the total marks. This is a common mistake.

Step 1: Know the exam pattern. NEET PG 2026 has 180 questions and 720 marks.
Step 2: Know the qualifying percentile.
| Category | Required Percentile |
| General / EWS | 50th |
| General PwBD | 45th |
| SC / ST / OBC | 40th |
Step 3: Understand how percentile works. Percentile shows the share of candidates who scored at or below you. The formula is:
Percentile = (Total candidates − Your rank) ÷ Total candidates × 100
For example, if 2,00,000 candidates appear (a made-up number for explanation), the candidate at rank 1,00,000 sits at the 50th percentile. That candidate’s marks become the General cutoff. For the 40th percentile, the marks of the candidate at rank 1,20,000 become the SC/ST/OBC cutoff.
Step 4: Remember that rank is decided by raw marks. Your All India Rank depends on your marks. Percentile is only used to check if you qualify.
Step 5: Compare previous year trends. The official cutoff changes each year based on competition and exam difficulty.
Previous Year NEET PG Cutoff Trends
The qualifying cutoff has changed from year to year and in several years it was reduced during counselling to fill seats:
| Year | General / EWS | SC / ST / OBC | General PwBD | Total Marks |
| 2026 | 262 (50th percentile) | 226 (40th percentile) | 244 (45th percentile) | 720 |
| 2025 | 276 (50th percentile) | 235 (40th percentile) | 255 (45th percentile) | 800 |
| 2024 | 50th percentile | 40th percentile | 45th percentile | 800 |
| 2023 | 291 (50th percentile) | 257 (40th percentile) | 274 (45th percentile) | 800 |
| 2022 | 275 (50th percentile) | 245 (40th percentile) | 260 (45th percentile) | 800 |
How to Use the Delhi NEET PG Cutoff
- Note your All India Rank and category. Rank matters more than marks.
- Shortlist 8 to 10 branches you would genuinely accept.
- Match your rank with the college and branch tables above and mark each option as safe, possible or a stretch. Delhi government seats in clinical branches are realistic only for top ranks.
- Check the quick estimate with the NEET PG college predictor and branch predictor.
- Keep backup options in other states, for example, UP NEET PG Cutoff and Rajasthan NEET PG Cutoff, plus deemed universities.
- Prepare two lists: one for MCC and one for Delhi state quota counselling, since the rules differ.
- Fill and lock your choices carefully.
