The counselling process includes online registration, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting to the allotted college. Through this counselling, NEET PG qualified candidates can secure postgraduate medical seats under the State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota. The 50% All India Quota seats of government colleges are filled separately by MCC.

Eligibility Criteria

To gain admission to PG medical courses, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for Uttarakhand NEET PG Counselling 2026:

• NEET PG: A valid rank in NEET PG 2026. Check your rank on the NEET PG 2026 merit list.
• Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission to PG (MD/MS) courses.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an MBBS degree or a recognised certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
• Internship: Candidates must complete the one-year internship on or before the cut-off date. NBEMS has fixed September 30, 2026, as the internship cut-off for NEET PG 2026; confirm the date in the HNBUMU prospectus.
• Registration Certificate: Candidates must have a permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by NMC or the State Medical Council.
• Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
• Domicile / MBBS institute: State quota seats follow the Uttarakhand domicile and MBBS institute rules in the prospectus (see the quota table below).

Uttarakhand NEET PG Quota Structure

• State Quota: Government college seats for eligible Uttarakhand candidates. Reservation applies only to Uttarakhand domicile candidates, as per the prospectus.
• Management Quota: Private college seats open to NEET PG qualified candidates, subject to the security money and fee in the prospectus.
• NRI Quota: NRI candidates register and verify documents at the college, and follow a separate NRI schedule.
• In-service / PMHS candidates: They need an NOC from the competent authority, as given in the documents list.
• All India Quota (AIQ): 50% seats of government colleges are filled by MCC, so also follow the NEET PG Counselling 2026 AIQ rounds. AIIMS Rishikesh admissions go through MCC, not HNBUMU.

Uttarakhand NEET PG Counselling Process 2026

Candidates can visit the official portal of HNB Uttarakhand Medical University to register for the NEET PG Uttarakhand State Counselling. The step-by-step process is given below.

Step 1: Registration

• Visit the official website of HNBUMU, Dehradun.
• On the home page, click the link for the “NEET PG 2026 Uttarakhand State Centralized Counselling”.
• Register using your NEET PG 2026 details.
• Enter the required information in the respective fields.
• Verify all details and submit the form to complete the registration.

Step 2: Payment of Counselling Fee

• After registration, proceed to pay the counselling fee.
• Click on the “Pay Registration Fee” option.
• Select a payment method and pay the one-time registration fee (see the fee table below).
• Confirm the transaction and download the fee receipt.

Step 3: Payment of Security Money

• In addition to the registration fee, candidates must pay refundable security money depending on the type of seat.
• Go to the “Pay Security Money” tab and pay the applicable amount (see the table below).

Step 4: Choice Filling and Locking

• After the merit list and seat matrix are displayed, fill in your preferred colleges and courses in order of preference.
• Lock your choices before the deadline.

Step 5: Seat Allotment and Result

• HNBUMU processes the data and declares the result based on merit, choices and seat availability.

Step 6: Reporting to the College

• Download the seat allotment letter, pay the tuition fee and report to the allotted college with original documents before the last date of joining.

Step 7: Further Rounds

• If you want an upgrade, re-register for the next round. If seats remain vacant, the Stray Vacancy round is held.

Security Money

Security money has to be paid for MD/MS/MDS/Diploma/DNB seats. It is refundable, but it can be forfeited if you do not join or leave a seat against the rules. The amounts below are from the last cycle and are indicative.

• Seat surrender: HNBUMU sets a last date to surrender, withdraw or resign a Round 1 seat without forfeiture of the security deposit, so follow the notice for each round.

After Uttarakhand NEET PG Seat Allotment

1. Download the allotment letter from the HNBUMU portal.
2. Pay the tuition fee at the counselling board fee counter and keep the receipt.
3. Report to the allotted college by the last date of joining with all original documents and one set of self-attested copies.
4. If you want to upgrade, take part in the next round as per the counselling rules.
