148 Students Banned from UP NEET PG Counselling 2025 for Not Joining or Leaving Seats in 2024

DGME has barred 148 aspirants from UP NEET PG Counselling 2025-26 for not joining or resigning from allotted seats. Check details here.

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has banned 148 students from participating in the UP NEET PG Counselling 2025. The action comes after these aspirants either failed to join or resigned from the MD/MS seats allotted to them during the stray vacancy and special stray vacancy rounds of the previous academic session.

According to DGME officials, the decision was taken to prevent wastage of precious medical PG seats and to streamline the admission process. Last year, several candidates blocked seats but did not complete the admission formalities, while some left after joining, causing major disruptions for deserving students.

Key Highlights

  • 148 candidates debarred from UP NEET PG Counselling 2025.
  • 59 candidates did not join allotted seats.
  • 89 candidates resigned after final admission rounds.
  • DGME has released two separate lists containing names, roll numbers, NEET PG ranks, and allotted institutes.
  • Counselling schedule for 2025 to be released soon on upneet.gov.in.

Why DGME Took This Action

According to NEET PG admission guidelines, candidates who do not take admission after being allotted seats in the stray vacancy round will:

  • Forfeit their security deposit, and
  • Be barred from participating in the counselling process of the following academic year.
