The Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh (AMRU HP), on behalf of the Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Shimla, conducts Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2026 for admission to MD, MS, and DNB courses under the State Quota in the state’s government and private medical colleges. Only candidates who qualify NEET PG are eligible for HP NEET PG counselling. NBEMS declared the NEET PG 2026 result on September 24, 2026, and AMRU HP is expected to release its revised schedule once MCC’s AIQ rounds are underway.

Eligibility Criteria

To gain admission to PG medical courses, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for HP NEET PG Counselling 2026:

• NEET PG: A valid rank in NEET PG 2026. Check your rank on the NEET PG 2026 merit list.
• Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission to PG (MD/MS) courses.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an MBBS degree or a recognised certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
• Internship: Candidates must complete the one-year internship on or before the cut-off date. NBEMS has fixed September 30, 2026, as the internship cut-off for NEET PG 2026; confirm the date in the AMRU prospectus.
• Registration Certificate: Candidates must have a permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by NMC or the State Medical Council.
• Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
• State quota conditions: State quota seats follow the Himachal domicile, MBBS institute and in-service rules in the prospectus.

Candidates can visit the official portal of the Atal Medical and Research University, Himachal Pradesh, to register for HP state counselling. The step-by-step process is given below:

Step 2: Payment of Counselling Fee	Pay the prescribed counselling fee online. The fee is non-refundable.
Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking	Once the fee is paid, select the preferred college, course, and quota from the available options based on your eligibility, and lock them before the deadline.
Step 4: Document Verification	Upload and verify the required documents online, including the NEET PG scorecard, certificates and ID proof.
Step 5: Seat Allotment	Seats are allotted by the counselling authority based on rank, choices filled and seat availability.
Step 6: Reporting to Allotted College	Download the allotment letter and report to the allotted college within the given time with original documents for verification.
