Assam NEET-PG Merit List: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, will release the state merit list for Assam MD/MS admission 2026 online for all candidates eligible to apply for Assam MD/MS admission. The list will include the names, NEET PG result and percentage, NEET PG rank, and state merit rank of the candidates who have qualified the medical entrance exam and have permanent residence in Assam. Candidates who are residents of Assam and secure the maximum NEET PG qualifying percentage will be added to the Assam merit list.

Assam NEET PG 2026 Counselling – Final Rounds Completed
Assam NEET PG 2026 counselling has now been completed across all rounds, including the stray vacancy round. In the stray vacancy round, 190 candidates were shortlisted under state quota seats – 21 under Scheduled Tribes (Plains), 8 under Scheduled Tribes (Hills), and 41 under the State Health Quota (SHQ); no candidates were shortlisted under the PwD category in this round. MD Community Medicine was the most-chosen subject, and Gauhati Medical College was the most-preferred institute in this round. Candidates allotted seats in the stray round had to report to their respective colleges by 28 February 2026.

Assam NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must meet the following conditions for Assam NEET PG Merit List 2026:
- NEET PG: A valid rank in NEET PG 2026.
- Qualification: MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized under the applicable NMC provisions.
- Internship: Candidates must complete the one-year compulsory rotating internship by the prescribed deadline.
- Registration: Candidates must hold a permanent or provisional MBBS registration certificate issued by the NMC or State Medical Council.
- Age: There is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET PG.
- Nationality: Candidates must fulfil the nationality requirements prescribed for NEET PG and Assam state counselling.
- Assam State Eligibility: Candidates must also satisfy the Assam-specific eligibility, domicile, and quota requirements applicable to the seat for which they are applying. Assam state quota admissions are conducted based on NEET PG merit and the applicable Assam PG admission rules.

- Mark sheet of MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year examinations
- Medical Registration Certificate.
- Internship Completion Certificate.
- Photo identity proof in the form of a Certificate with an attested photo from the Head of the Institution last studied / Copy of Passport / Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Driving License (self-attested photocopy after verifying with the original documents).
- Copy of Birth Certificate for proof of age (if the date of birth is not given in the HSC mark sheet/certificate).
- NEET PG Score Card.
- Copy of Online Counselling Registration Certificate.
